The studio

MaCheFai LLC is a small, independent software company. We make apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad.

The name is Italian. Ma che fai?! means, roughly, “What are you doing?!”, the cry of an Italian grandparent who has caught you at something. We write it as one word: MaCheFai.

What we make

Our first app is Mannaggia, a menu bar app for Mac, with an app for iPhone and iPad. Tap your MacBook and an Italian grandparent scolds you out loud. You can choose from 23 relatives, or record a member of your own family, with their spoken consent, and turn their voice into one. That voice is generated on your Mac.

Mannaggia is not on sale yet. You can join the waitlist at mannaggia.app.

How it works

We build our apps to run on your device. In practice that means:

• No account. You open the app and use it.
• No analytics or tracking in our apps.
• No uploads. Recordings you make stay on your device.
